Victim Says Ex Tried To Take Her Against Her Will
Law enforcement officers answered a call to intervene in a domestic altercation Sunday evening during which a woman said her ex-boyfriend tried to drive away with her against her will.
The victim, age 25, told officers with the Lawrenceburg Police Department that while she and her current boyfriend were at the home of an acquaintance, her ex-boyfriend stopped by to give her some money.
The victim explained that she had started to sit down in the passenger seat when her ex began to drive away.
She said that he grabbed her purse, saying that he wanted her cell phone. She said that she yelled for her boyfriend to follow, then grabbed the steering wheel.
They struggled briefly over the wheel, he pushed her back, and the vehicle went off the roadway, into a resident’s yard.
By the time they came to a stop, the victim said her boyfriend had caught up to them and opened the driver’s door. The men became engaged in a physical altercation in the yard and street. Afterwards the ex reportedly ran to his vehicle and drove away.
Authorities are still investigating the matter at the present time and charges are pending.
